“There is a lot of confusion in the marketplace right now because people aren’t speaking the same language,” said Chris Kovac, social media supervisor at Nicholson Kovac, a b-to-b marketing communications agency based in Kansas City, Mo. “Establishing a common language has to be the first step,” he said.

“Once we’re on the same page, then we can define subgroups of advertising. Is it an interactive banner ad, is it an engagement ad, etc.”

Mad Men on Twitter? The Men (and women) of Madison Avenue go Web 2.0

For fans of the show Mad Men on AMC you can now follow your favorite characters on Twitter. I’ve seen no conformation that the people at the AMC are behind it, but the characters follow who they are on the show to a “T” whether interacting with each other or followers. The character’s profiles also have a link to AMC’s official site either through SterlingCooperAdvertising.com or through AMCtv.com.
